Police in Uganda has rescued at least 15 people suspected to be victims of human trafficking.
All the victims had been locked in a cargo cabin of a fuso truck.
The driver of the truck was arrested and he’s being held at Kalungu police.
Police said: “We suspect human trafficking, the matter is under investigation. It was a sad state as we found passengers sweating profusely. We immediately gave them first aid and water to prevent dehydration”.
The Kalungu District traffic officer Wilfred Byamugisha said the suspect was intercepted on Saturday in Lukaya Town at the fifth check point on the Kampala-Masaka highway.
The truck was intercepted following a tip-off by police intelligence.
