Police chiefs in Uganda have invited the Forum for Democratic Change ( FDC) leaders to police headquarters to discuss the heroic return of opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye on September 29.
The two parties are to meet in Naguru to discuss how to manage the return of Besigye who has been out of the country for a fortnight.
The dialogue is an obvious departure from previous police rhetoric that threatened to block a hero’s welcome for the People’s president.
Shortly after FDC officials issued Besigye’s return programme, police spokesperson Andrew Kaweesi said police would be block if it’s not organised under the public order management act.
This was after FDC said it had written to police about the return of the four time challenger of president Museveni two weeks ago but they (police) was yet to give their response.
