Uganda Police Force has been hit by a fuel scarcity crisis.
Impeccable sources told this reporter that the crisis follows a move by Shell and Total to halt fuel supply due to accumulated police bill.
When contacted, the Police spokesperson, Andrew Kaweesi said, “We do not have fuel right now but that is all I can say.”
Police approximately uses 29.8 million liters of Diesel and Petrol annually without considering fuel used for special operations.
The fuel, which costs more than Shs100 billion, is paid for in four installments.
The source said the fuel scarcity has affected police operations and movements over the last two weeks.
