Police court sitting in Naguru has held former Wandegeya DPC, Moses Nanoka, personally responsible for an incident in which supporters of opposition leader, Kizza Besigye, were badly beaten.

Nanoka is jointly charged with Constable Robert Wanzala for neglect of duty and unnecessary use of force.

While appearing before court on Tuesday, Nanoka was found liable to all the three counts of unnecessary use of force, discreditable conduct that taints the police image and neglect of duty.

He is accused of failing to restrain his juniors from beating Besigye’s supporters at Kalerwe Market on July 12.

Court has ordered him to submit his defence.
