The police have stopped the Leader of Opposition in Parliament Wafula Oguttu from visiting his sick mother.
Oguttu’s mother was reportedly admitted in a hospital upcountry after falling ill.
When the official tried to leave his home to go and visit her, police which is besieging his home, stopped him from leaving.
Oguttu is among the Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] party officials who were summoned to appear before the Police Special Investigations Division (SID) for interrogations.
They are to answer questions concerning their involvement in the swearing in of Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Oguttu and Tororo county MP Geoffrey Ekanya went to Kireka on Tuesday and recorded a statement.
FDC National Chairperson, Ambassador Wasswa Biriggwa is yet to record a statement.
According to reports, Biriggwa has since flown out of the country although FDC handlers did not confirm it.
Oguttu told Uganda Radio Network that despite showing up the SID, he wasn’t ready for the interrogations in the absence of his lawyer.
Police has also barred Nakawa Member of Parliament Michael Kabaziguruka from taking his child to hospital.
“My son is very sick and police has denied me permission to take him to hospital,” Kabaziguruka cried out.
