FDC preacher Doreen Nyanjura said police was still laying siege at their head offices along Entebbe road.

“Police say it [office] is a crime scene, Harold Kaija (Deputy Secretary General has been arrested) and journalists dispersed,” Nyanjura said.

FDC in a tweet said Uganda Police Force gave journalists marching orders from their headquarters who had gone to attend a press conference.

The police, however, cancelled the press conference that takes place every Monday and arrested Kaija for trying to address it.

Uganda police and members of the national forces deployed early Monday morning and besieged homes of opposition Forum for Democratic Change leaders.

The homes of FDC spokesperson, Semujju Nganda and that of the opposition leader in Parliament Hon Wafula Oguttu are still under military siege.

Police is also camping at Kizza Besigye’s home in Kasangati Wakiso district.

His wife Winnie Byanyima says for the third time [Saturday, Sunday and Monday], she has had to explain herself before being allowed to leave her home.

“Another day another battle to get out of my home and go to work. The price of a rigged election is repression,” Byanyima said.
