Police has once again arrested FDC secretary for mobilisation Ingrid Turinawe in Nakawa where she was attending the trial of Kizza Besigye.

Ingrid was arrested alongside her driver and an activist Joram Kyenjojo.

FDC deputy secretary general Harold Kaija says the trio is detained at Jinja Road Police Station.

They are accused of defying police orders.

Kaija said Ingrid’s driver is unconscious after being roughed up by police.

“I have asked them to take him to hospital and am getting no help.”

Daily Monitor journalists Abubaker Lubowa and Robert Lubowa who were covering the arrest were roughed up by police and assaulted.

Other journalists reportedly stormed Jinja Road Police station over police brutality directed on press.

This is the second time Ingrid is being arrested on her way from Nakawa court; the last time she was accused of leading a procession to Namugongo Shrines contrary to police orders.
