President Yoweri Museveni also passed out 2909 UPDF recruits at Kaweweta Recruits Training School in Nakaseke District, today.
The Recruits’ course, according to presidential press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi, commenced on 17 November 2014 with a total of 3018 trainees including 94 female trainees.
As the course was progressing, 109 trainees were dropped along the way due to various reasons as they could not meet the course training standards.
This has therefore, left us with a total of 2909 trainees including 90 female trainees.
He later commissioned 116 new structures at the recruits’ school.
These include Dormitories, Administration and Classroom blocks, and Commandants’ houses constructed by J2E Investments Corporation under UPDF engineering brigade.
This comes ahead of the September recruitment of about 3,000 new soldiers.
