The Makerere University council has quashed demands by striking students over the 60% Tuition policy ordering them to pay up first and fast.
The students who have been striking over the 60% fees policy for a third day in a row insist it is not fair to those on private sponsorship.
The university council now orders that the students should use a two week extension to ensure all tuition is cleared up or face the consequences.
By the time of the resolution, at least 20 students had been arrested and kept at Wandegeya police post for allegedly inciting violence. Police also fired tear gas and live bullets to disperse rowdy students in areas of Kikumi Kikumi and kikoni.
