Buganda road court in Kampala has granted bail to a street preacher on charges of spreading false propaganda against Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
Self claimed pastor Gordon Muganzi appeared today before the Court Chief Magistrate Jamson Karemani who granted him cash bail of 500,000 shillings after spending a night in Luzira prison.
Pastor Muganzi presented two people as sureties and each was bonded 5million shillings not cash.
On Wednesday, Pr Muganzi denied one count of being a common nuisance contrary to section 160 (1) of the Penal Code Act as read to him.
However, court then denied him temporary freedom as did not have credible witness.
Prosecution contends that on March 19, this year at Pioneer Mall in Kampala district the Pr Muganzi a resident of Nabingo in Wakiso district, did an act not authorized by law to wit spreading propaganda that President Museveni killed his former confidante Eriya Kategeya and Gen. Aronda Nyakayirima who was the Internal Affairs Minister and former Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) there by causing inconvenience to the public in the exercise of common rights.
