Illegal guns found in pastor Kakande’s Church, his deputy arrested
Police in Uganda has arrested Kampala city Pastor Johnson Muwanguzi after he was reportedly found in possession of illegal firearms.
Pastor Muwanguzi is the deputy to renowned self-proclaimed prophet Samuel Kakande of Synagogue Church at Wandegeya-Kubbiri.
Police spokesperson Andrew Kaweesi who confirmed the pastor’s arrest said he was found in possession of two assault rifles and 100 live ammunitions.
However,upon his arrest , Muwanguzi said the guns belong to his boss (Pastor Kakande).
Kaweesi said, that when questioned by police, Prophet Kakande as he’s commonly called denied having any knowledge of the deadly weapons.
But the police publicist said procurement and registration documents show the guns belong to Pastor Muwanguzi.
He is said to have been hiding the two riffles in the pastor’s church.
Muwanguzi was netted after a man of Asian origin, Patel Kurash suspected to be dealing in illegal firearms was arrested and interrogated by police at the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Kireka.
