Parliament suspends rules on sitting arrangements


Following the increased number of legislatures, the parliament of Uganda has decided suspend rules on sitting arrangement in the chambers.

This rule applied with the ruling party sitting on the Speakers right hand side and the opposition on the left.

During sitting chaired by Jacob Oulanya’s the deputy speaker of the 10th parliament urged the members to disregard the law so that it can be able to accommodate the big numbers.

Currently parliament has over 427 members with the ruling party having the majority of over 300 members.
