Parliament has finally spoken out on the medical condition of Mukono legislator Betty Nambooze.
On July 1, Nambooze travelled to South Africa following doctors’ comprehensive medical review.
A series of tests have been carried out and this morning she underwent a successful surgery.
She will now be put under a post-surgery observation until she is better to travel back to Uganda
Parliament said in a statement that Nambooze was steadily improving.
The statement said the MP was eager to resume her duties and asked Ugandans to pray for her.
In her own words, Nambooze said she was no longer ailing but recovering.
Nambooze was first admitted at Mukono Church Clinic and later to Kampala with stomach complications amid fears that she had been poisoned.
