PAC probes Local government ministry over lack of proper documentation

On Tuesday 27th/September, the Local Government ministry officials are appearing before Public Accounts Committee of parliaments to answers several questions about the ministry.

The meeting that is still on going, the committee has already revealed that about shs 130 million were given to Uganda police to purchase firefighting equipment without proper documentation.

Accord to Hon. Joseph Ssewungu one of the Public Accounts Committee members said that Without supporting documentation, it is clear more expenses are being created to act as avenues of spending money.

However the other surprising information depicts that Local Government Ministry officials have been renting parking space at UGX12,000 per car daily.

Uganda is one of the countries that are still battling with corruption in both government and private sector where countless millions haves have been swindled by individuals.
