More than one million candidates will sit their primary seven,O-level &A-level examinations this year.
A total of 1,037,219 candidates have registered for October/November exams compared to last year’s 1,024,315 According to the UNEB 620,825 pupils from 7,787 examination centres have registered for PLE.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education, a total of 1,946,318 pupils joined P.1 seven years ago.
This means that 1,325,493 (representing 68.1%) dropped out of school before completing the seven year cycle.
The two day PLE examinations will start on November 2, with mathematics and social studies and end on November 3 with science and English language in the afternoon.
A total of 314,286 senior four students will begin their exams on October 12, while senior six will begin their exams with economics and chemistry subjects on November 9.
Uganda Advanced certificate of education has registered 102,108 students compared to last years 109,897.
In a statement, Uneb spokesperson Mr Hamis Kaheru advised parents and students to cross check with their respective examination centres to confirm whether the candidates names were captured by the examining body before the exams begin.
