Former Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] contestant for Omoro County Simon Toolit has dragged deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah to court.
In his suit filed at High Court, Toolit accuses Oulanyah of taking part in his recent kidnapping by armed men in Gulu town.
Toolit was blindfolded and whisked off to a safe house where he was reportedly mistreated.
He later showed up at Kira Road Police Station in Kampala.
The abduction came on the same day court was supposed to hear an election case in which he accuses Omoro County MP Oulanyah of malpractice.
Oulanyah was allegedly declared winner without proof of tallied votes.
According to Toolit, the kidnappers to questioned why he took Oulanyah to court.
They threatened to end his life if he didn’t withdraw the petition.
High Court Registrar Alex Ajiji directed Oulanyah to file in his defense.
Meanwhile, Aswa regional police spokesperson, Patrick Jimmy Okema told New Vision Toolit never reported the case to police in Gulu where he was abducted.
Okema accused Toolit of frustrating their investigation of the abduction case, threatening to arrest him if he doesn’t record a statement at Gulu Police Station.
