In a bid to win the house speaker job, Deputy Speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah has unveiled his campaign team for the post currently occupied by Rebecca Kadaga who is also fighting to retain the sit.
Mr Oulanya’s team took no time to punch holes in speaker Kadaga’s leadership of the Ninth Parliament and her ongoing outbursts against National Resistance Movement (NRM) party officials.
The 25-strong task force, to be headed by Godfrey Kiwanda, the Mityana County MP and Chairman of the Buganda Caucus -the largest regional grouping of MPs in the House, also questioned the national credentials of hon. Kadaga-given her recent attacks against public officials.
According to Hon. Kiwanda Hon. Oulnaya has had a tremendous record as Deputy Speaker, steering the 9th Parliament throughout some of the most demanding activities.
The newly elected Bujenje County MP Lt Col (rtd) Patrick Kasumba also accused Speaker Kadaga of abandoning House business whenever there was serious business in the house.
According to him, Kadaga would abandon proceedings of the 9th parliament to Hon. Oulanya.
