At least 6 people were killed since Friday in Burundi capital Bujumbura with almost all the victims tied up and later shot.
Dieudonné Nijimbere, a member of opposition Agathon Rwasa’s FNL party was killed on Friday along Kiriri-Muyira road.
According to Isanganiro.org, Nijimbere fell into an ambush by unknown people near Kiriri campus police.
His family says the murder was politically motivated because Nijimbere was affiliated to the Youth League of FNL Agathon Rwasa wing.
He had earlier received phone calls threatening him with death.
SOS Media Burundi reports another man being killed by armed men in the neighbourhood of Cibitoke (North of Bujumbura).
The attack occurred in the tenth avenue at the border with the Kamenge district.
The late was affiliated to opposition and working as a security guard with KK-Security Company.
On Saturday, two bodies were found on the road to the airport and the victims were not identified.
In Gisuru, two police officers and two civilians were injured in an armed attack.
Grenade explosions were also reported in Kamenge and Nyakabiga districts.
About 100 young people have been arrested this Friday in the east of Burundi.
The local administration told SOS Media Burundi that these young people were on their way to Tanzania.
They were also suspected to join the movement of rebellion.
The associations for the defence of human rights working in this region say that it is a violation of the law even more that these young people have not been apprehended in possession of anything suspicious.
