Opposition Forum for Integrity and Leadership President, Emmanuel Tumusiime, has sworn his allegiance to President Yoweri Museveni.
President Museveni yesterday campaigned in Kakiri, Zana and Masuulita in Busiro North in Wakiso district.
Former Vice President Gilbert Bukenya campaigned for the president in Kakiri too.
Tumusiime announced his support for Museveni on Wednesday at a rally in Nakawuka Wakiso district.
Tumusiime explained that although he has always attacked Museveni’s regime, his decision to support the president was based on the need for unity.
“Museveni is the only one with a vision of solving Africa’s problems,” Tumusiime said.
“My destiny and that of Museveni are intertwined.”
In July 2015, the Executions Division of the High Court sent Tumusiime to Luzira after he failed to pay a debt of Shs47m.
Tumusiime was arrested for grabbing land located in Luweero District as well as 25 heads of cattle.
