Out spoken senior presidential advisor on media issues Tamale Mirundi has castigated the government he serves over widespread corruption and theft of public funds.
“Only in this regime have I seen people stealing and exposing their theft by driving fancy cars, building castles,” he said.
According to Mirundi, a medal is an award of excellence and not a certificate of attendance.
“These medals were meant to be certificates of attendance,” said Tamale while responding to parliament Golden Jubilee medals awarded to past and current legislators at a function presided over by president Museveni on Monday.
In what he called as arrivalism syndrome suffered by most government officials, Tamale said Museveni’s government is extravagant.
“Some of these government officials were poor. Now that they have office, they want to have everything. They think by having a public offices, they arrived where they wanted to reach,” added Tamale in a televised interview on NBS TV.
According to him, people should only bother about the future of their families, not the continuity of this country.
