Government spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo, has described the break-in at Amama Mbabazi’s lawyers’ offices are mere propaganda.
“The alleged break-in at JPAM lawyer Fred Muwema could be an insider job,” Opondo said in a tweet.
The offices of Fred Muwema and Muhammad Mbabazi were broken last night by unknown people who beat the security guard and stole laptops as well as files containing the election petition documents.
While police commences investigations, Opondo thinks the break-in was “staged for propaganda value”.
The lawyers are expected to submit their affidavits tomorrow at Supreme Court.
Mbabazi lawyer, Asuman Basalirwa, said they will ask for more time if we fail to achieve the whole process of collecting documents.
Speaking to press Wednesday afternoon at Go Forward offices in Nakasero, Amama Mbabazi said the raiders of his lawyers’ offices were wearing police uniforms:
“We have enough eyewitnesses”.
About said witnesses saw about 30 policemen who earlier emerged from Wandegeya police station.
Mbabazi said not even Idi Amin could carry out something like that.
