Nyanzi attacks Lokodo, Facebook blocks her page again

Facebook has once more deactivated all two pages belonging to Makerere Institute of Social Research [MISR] lecturer Dr Stella Nyanzi.

The biggest social media platform on Monday blocked Nyanzi’s pages after she posted naked pictures of herself protesting being evicted from her office.

“They have blocked my 2 accounts but I’m back with a new page….thanx for staying with me,” she said on her new account.

It took the intervention of the University Vice Chancellor Prof Ddumba Sentamu to have Nyanzi’s office re-opened.
Ethics and Integrity minister Simon Lokodo then ordered immediate arrest of Nyanzi for breaking the law.

Lokodo said the outspoken Makerere don would be subjected to a mental test to establish whether she is “normal” before her arrest.
Lokodo also noted that Nyanzi would be charged under the Anti-Pornography Bill which spells a sentence of up to two years for ‘indecent behaviour’.

Nyanzi then fired back telling Lokodo to “go and arrest Karamojongs walking naked before coming to me.”

She said if Lokodo was that ethical, he should have arrested Prof Mamdani.

“Where is the ethics, integrity and morality in Uganda? Lokodo is just not serious,” she added.
She is expected to record a statement at police.

Over the weekend, Mamdani issued a statement explaining the background to the management decision for Nyanzi to vacate her office at MISR and take a seat at the MISR library because she had refused to teach in the MPhil/PhD programme.
