The Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation has said it will shut down water all day long Saturday.
“…wishes to inform its esteemed customers and the general public that there will be interruptions in water supply on 11th June, 2016 due to a planned power shut down by UMEME at our Gaba substations, from 8am-5pm,” the corporation said in a statement Friday evening.
The statement said this will enable UMEME engineers carry out maintenance works to improve power supply at the substations.
It said the entire Kampala water service area will be affected.
“Customers are therefore advised to store enough water and use it sparingly. We regret any inconveniences caused and thank you for your patience.”
The corporation said the system will take about 24 hours to stabilise after the planned shutdown.
