NTV Uganda this evening will launch its Luganda sister station at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The new station, we are told, is called Sparks TV.
News of NTV’s Luganda station started circulating at the start of the year but management kept the development a secret till today, Friday.
The new station, according to reports, will feature local programmes similar to Agataliko Nffufu, Abanonya and Akabinkano aired by local stations like Bukedde TV, Delta TV and Star TV.
Our source says management at the Nation Media-owned Serena based station wanted to give its viewers a surprise Christmas gift, the reason for a year-long silence.
The new TV launches today at the “Born to Win Concert” where Nigeria star, Patoranking will be performing live alongside Tanzania’s Daimond platinum.
Dubbed QTV or NTV 2 channel by media reports, the new station will reportedly be accessed by only the central region; Entebbe, Jinja, Luwero, Masaka and Ssese Islands.
