NRM Poor Youth, Vincent Kaggwa, has been charged with illegal gun possession and released.
Kaggwa was picked from his home in Katanga Wandegeya in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and rushed off.
Reports say he was first taken to Naguru police headquarters, then Central Police Station in Kampala and later Wandegeya police station.
When his colleagues later discovered that he was detained at Wandegeya police station, they raided the station and had him freed.
Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, told URN that a concerned crime preventer had informed the police about a gun that was in Kaggwa’s possession.
He says, they moved into his home to conduct a search and arrested him in the process.
However, he could not confirm if a gun was found in the house.
Kaggwa was later released and sent back home.
This is the second time Kaggwa has been arrested and whisked off by security operatives in unclear circumstances.
His saga came on the same morning when yellow pigs’ activist, Norman Tumuhimbise, was dumped near his Kasubi home having disappeared since last week.
Enanga denied his force having arrested or kidnapped Norman.
