NRM caucus Central Executive Committee (CEC) sub-committee will meet former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi, and former Vice President, Prof gilbert Bukenya, today, Friday for talks.
The meeting will take place at State House, Nakasero in Kampala.
Mbabazi has confirmed attending but his colleague, Bukenya who earlier said he is beyond summoning by CEC, is also expected to show up.
NRM Secretary General, Kasule Lumumba, yesterday invited Mbabazi, his wife, Jacqueline, the NRM women’s league chairperson, his sister-in-law and former Agriculture minister, Hope Mwesigye and Bukenya for talks before today’s meeting.
Lumumba says she has already written back to Mbabazi telling him the nomination fees demanded by the party has to be paid which Amama earlier protested.
It is the same reason he is meeting CEC team which includes; Luweero NRM chairman, Hajj Abdul Naduli, Soroti municipality MP Mike Mukula, Prime Minister, Ruhakana Rugunda and President Museveni.
Mukula said on a radio talk show that the talks are aimed at bringing their brothers (Amama and Bukenya) back on the right track.
Mbabazi’s lawyer, Severino Twinobusingye, says the Kinkizi West legislator insists Museveni overhauls the party’s new primary elections regulations.
