The ruling NRM party has released a 2015 Electoral Commission road map for the party primaries.
Kigyagi Arimpa John, the Deputy Chairperson, NRM Electoral Commission, addressed press at the party headquarters in Kyadondo on Friday about the primaries.
He asked members of the press to be vigilant and report accurately.
“We are releasing the NRM road map for the internal party elections.”
He said beginning this weekend, the party has divided its members into 30 sub zones.
“We shall move east & north meeting all aspirants at all levels.”
The officials will then meet all candidates on 10th August, on 13th Aug and train village registrars.
From 14th-16th Aug, the officials will display the register, Friday 25th September will be the polling day for the primaries.
“The flag is up and people can campaign,” Alimpa announced.
The NRM Electoral Commission chairman, Tanga Odoi, said they have no write up about the new constituencies which parliament asked them to incorporate in the 2016 general elections.
NRM deputy spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo, says the NRM is the first party to have a register done in three months.
