Two members of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) have been appointed to serve in the main opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Council in Kasese municipality.
The Central Division chairperson Richard Safari appointed two NRM members as secretaries while his Nyamwamba Division counterpart Saidi Kisuki Muhindo of appointed one.
Safari appointed two secretaries, council speaker and his deputy from NRM.
Safari is reported to have said that his council, which is based on unity, cooperation and hard work, seeks to deliver services irrespective of party affiliation.
His counterpart, Muhindo, said it was now time to work and not to bicker, vowing to introduce a rapid response mechanism to respond to concerns.
Kasese District is considered one of FDC’s strongholds after the party won all the six Parliamentary seats in Kasese, 18 seats for sub-county chairpersons out of 29 and 170 councilors out of 460.
