The senior presidential press secretary Don Wanyama has come out to give his take about the hotly debated age limit removal from the constitution of the republic of Uganda.
In an exclusive interview on NBS TV’s morning show ‘Morning Breeze’ hosted by former MP aspirant Simon Kaggwa Njala, the veteran journalist showed how amending the constitution is not a crime.
“I see nothing criminal/illegal about people calling for an amendment. Law is not cast in stone, politics is dynamic. As long as people want it, then why not”, said Wanyama.
Wanyama further articulated how the recently concluded Kyangwanzi retreat was not about term limits.
“Kyankwanzi retreat didn’t have anything to do with removal of age limit but as he left Kyankwanzi yesterday, Museveni was handed the age limit removal petition, received it but didn’t comment,” said Wanyama.
Though government is still distancing it’s self from the allegations, but the issue of scraping off age limits being pushed mostly the Kyangwanzi legislature Anne Nankabirwa has brought a lot debate throughout the country.
