Nantaba defeats ‘NRM mafia’ once & for all

As she promised, Lands State minister Idah Nantaba has defeated ruling party “NRM mafia” once and for all.

Nantaba was driven out of the ruling party by a group she terms as mafia and forced to run as an independent candidate.

This came after she was allegedly rigged out while contesting with Moses Karangwa [who she calls a land grabber] in the Kayunga District NRM chairman.

According to provisional results from Kayunga, Nantaba slashed Juliet Nalunga, the NRM candidate

According to Kayunga District Returning Officer, Ruth Nakacwa, Nantaba polled a lump sum 86,057 votes while Nalunga picked 13,184 votes.

She remains the undisputed Kayunga District Woman MP.

Nantaba recently rejected a proposal from President Yoweri Museveni to reconcile her with opponents.

Meanwhile, in central region, Kampala Central Muhammed Nsereko who also jilted NRM to run as an independent, is currently leading NRM’s Minsa Kabanda, FDC’s Harold Kaija, Hamdan Ssemugooma and Moses Kayondo.

Kampala District Woman MP seat, incumbent Naggayi Nabilah is leading her rivals with 29%.

Wakiso District Woman MP Rosemary Senninde is leading in her race.

In Rubaga North, incumbent MP Moses Kasibante is slowly losing to Uganda Federal Alliance’s Beti Kamya.

In Busiro South, journalist Simon Njala is tying up with Mutebi Balikuddembe.

Minsiter Abraham Byandala is ahead in Katikamu North followed by Jasper Muwonge Aligawesa, Kaddu Mukalazi Willy Mayambala and Paul Wamala.
