Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze led opposition legislators today who walked out on President Yoweri Museveni.

The president was Wednesday delivering a speech during the national budget reading at Serena conference centre in Kampala.

When the president started addressing the members, opposition MPs stood up and started waving placards and calling for the release of Kizza Besigye.

The president explained that he had no powers to release anybody from prison saying only courts of law have such power.

Dissatisfied by the response, Nambooze stormed out of the hall followed by a few opposition legislators.

Last month, opposition legislators stormed out of Serena Conference Centre and left Museveni delivering the State of the Nation Address.

“Release Besigye… Release Besigye,” the MPs had demanded only to be ignored by the president.

Makindye West MP Hon. Allan Ssewanyana Hon. Munyagwa Mubarak Sserunga, MP Kawempe Division South then stood up and walked out of the session.
