The newly appointed minister without Portfolio Hajj Abdul Nadduli has handed over an official vehicle attached to his former office as Luweero District Chairperson.
Nadduli in May handed over office of the District LC5 Chairperson at the swearing in ceremony for the newly elected District Councillors and District LC5 Chairperson Mr Ronald Ndawula but refused to handover the vehicle claiming it was his to monitor government programs in the district.
Nadduli who drove to Luweero District Headquarters on Wednesday in his official car Reg No UG2228C for the handover of the District Double cabin pickup said his delay in handing over the vehicle is explained in an earlier communication made when he indicated that an official vehicle was supposed to be assigned to his office as National Vice Chairperson of the ruling NRM party to help monitor all government projects.
“I had not refused to hand over the vehicle since I had clearly indicated that my party would soon deliver means of transport for my new assignment. I was ambushed by another assignment when the President elevated me to Cabinet as Minister to strengthen the other assignment at National level,” Nadduli told the District leaders.
