The battle code named ‘Mother vs Daughter’ in the FUFA women Elite league was settled by arguably the best player in the season so far.
Prior to the game, all talk was about Kawempe’s Hasfa Nassuna and her mother Annet Nakimbugwe who plays for Buikwe She Red stars.
However when both players stepped on the pitch, the crowd in Buikwe started cheering their respective teams but with a lot of attention placed on the two players.
Nassuna kept avoiding her mother during the game but it was just down to the different roles both players were performing on the evening.
Halftime ended goalless in a match that was broadcast live on 102.1 FUFA fm by Dumba Siraje.
It looked like the game was headed for a draw without any scores but Agaba Hajarah brought down Hasfa Nassuna in the forbidden area.
The referee pointed to the penalty spot.
Sandra Nabweteme who has now scored 11 goals in the league and leading the scorers chart, converted the penalty successfully for Kawempe Muslim to win 1-0 and extend their unbeaten run to four games.
Not h teams entered the match having won all their opening three fixtures.
