National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) never verified my academic documents prior to the February 2016 elections, the Aswa County MP Reagan Okumu has said.
According to Okumu, the ruling National Resistance Movement has been amputated by courts of law which have expelled several of its newly elected legislators from Parliament.
“There’s no school which breeds a qualified politician,” Okumu who is a member of the largest opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) made the revelation on Saturday on a political talk show hosted by Capital FM.
A total of 12 NRM members of parliament have been thrown out of the House by court on different grounds including lack of requisite academic papers. This followed election petitions by their rivals who lost in the recently concluded elections.
The NRM deputy spokesperson Ofwono Opondo however, said all the NRM MPs who were thrown out of parliament have filed appeal challenging the reapective court decision.
