Buhweju county MP Hon. Francis Mwijukye has compared opposition leader Kizza Besigye to the son of God, Jesus Christ.
Mwijukye was discussing the next five years for the opposition in Uganda on NTV Uganda Tuesday.
“We have a police that is partisan and I’m not surprised it’s the current spokesperson leading this (Andrew Felix Kaweesi).
According to Mwijukye, Dr. Besigye hasn’t officially arrived because his passport is not stamped.
He said Besigye was literally kidnapped by goons in Civil Aviation Authority uniform.
“Besigye is being terrorised because he is popular like Jesus.”
Mwijukye said if he can sacrifice closing his shop for a day because of the struggle, then so be it.
“Why can people close shop b’se of the festival but will not do it because Besigye will be passing through with a crowd?”
He added: “They will not suppress us for long. It is temporary.”
According to Mwijukye, Ugandans will wake up one day and say enough is enough.
He suggests the flag is not enough to show independence.
“The struggle we are dealing with is a struggle of liberation and it’s not about FDC or Besigye or me.”
He notes that bad governance trickles down and because of this, MPs can’t do much in their constituencies.
“I want a Uganda where the systems work and there’s a clearly orderliness of how things work.”
