The upcoming Shs800m Kampala city festival will run for two days, according to Kampala Capital City Authority executive director Jennifer Musisi.
It will start on Saturday and run up to Sunday evening.
Addressing press on Thursday morning, Musisi said the carnival will be graced by different musicians and rally ace drivers.
Present on the presser were musicians; Radio and Weasel, Navio, Sheebah Karungi and Wilson Bugembe.
Musisi also promised tight security of more than 6,000 police officers.
She said the police officers are already on the ground and will block all city feeder roads to maximise security.
She also reminded the revellers of free wifi, which starts this weekend.
Edgar B. Watson, the Head Entertainment, said the festival unites Uganda both as a country and Kampala as a city.
“Let us take time off of our busy schedules and come enjoy this street party.”
NBS TV is the event’s main media partner.
“We are happy to be part of a big event that brings all Ugandans together in celebration,” NBS CEO Kin Kariisa said.
Singer Wilson Bugembe reminded Christians bot to feel like they can’t come for the festival because a stage will be set for them too.
