President Yoweri Museveni on Friday launched the National Policy on Elimination of Gender based Violence in Uganda at Imperial Royal Hotel.
Moments later, Museveni who had been invited as the first of honour hugged former ethics minister Miria Matembe who also attended the ceremony.
Matembe was a minister in President Museveni cabinet but later joined the opposition and started criticising president Museveni for deviating from what she has always the original principles and objectives of the National Resistance Army/Movement (NRA/M).
It was spectacular to see Matembe, now an Opposition member and long time critic of President Museveni gladly receiving his hug.
In one of her latest comments, Matembe described Museveni as an arrogant man who thinks that only those in the NRM government are the Ugandans.
“This utter arrogance of President Museveni kills me, I feel sorry for this man Kahinda Otafiire,” said Matembe on Thursday night on NBS TV where she had interfaced with Justice and constitutional affairs minister Otafiire.
