NRM candidate, Yoweri Museveni’s Media Team, has been involved in a car accident.
The accident occurred Wednesday along Kiwangala Masaka road in Lwengo district.
According to witnesses, the driver lost control of the vehicle after hitting a hump and swerved into a swamp.
No one was hurt.
The pictures taken by Joseph Sabiti show the vehicle the journalists were travelling in, stuck in a marshy area.
The journalists managed to get out before the vehicle could drown in the water.
Masaka Region Traffic Police Commander, James Tebaijuka, said the accident occurred at Kyoja swamp when the Toyota Prado in which the journalists were travelling veered off the road.
The group was rushing to Masaka after covering President Yoweri Museveni’s campaign rally at Kiwangala play ground in Lwengo district.
Tebaijuka says all the 6 journalists and the driver were rescued with no injuries.
The president today addressed four rallies in Bukoto Mid-West, Bukoto County West, Bukomansimbi South County and Kabula County.
He said government was working on the Ssembabule-Mateete-Mbirizi road and the one to Kyabakuza too.
“We got water from Kakyeera up to Kabula. The Government is doing it’s part, NRM supporters should now do their part, which is, fear God, fight poverty in your homes, live a responsible lifestyle and support NRM,” he said.
The government, he promised, will support the fight against poverty through the wanainchi funds, namely, the Youth fund, the Women fund, NAADS and the Micro-finance fund.
“All these will get additional funding.”
