President Yoweri Museveni has directed for the immediate suspension of three engineers working on different power dams in the country.
The affected are; Eng. Paul Mubiru, the director energy resources and Eng. Henry Bidasala Igaga project coordinator Karuma and Ms. Cecilia Menya project coordinator Isimba dam over neglect of duty.
The presidential press secretary Lindah Nabusayi has confirmed the development saying the president ordered the engineers to be investigated immediately.
This came after contractors issued stern warning implicating the engineers in shoddy work at the ongoing construction of the dams.
Museveni had earlier on met Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) CEO Harrison Mutikanga and board chairman Stephen Isabalija who alerted him of the substandard work being done.
He then wrote to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development Irene Muloni about the matter.
According to the president, the engineers at Karuma and Isimba dams are not serious at all.
