As opposition FDC stalwarts clashed at Namboole delegates conference, President Yoweri Museveni was in Entebbe playing football with kids.
According to the presidential press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi, Museveni ordered his convoy to stop on their way to Entebbe where he launched the Elders Forum at Imperial Resort Hotel.
The forum has been around since 2010 and some of its members include Justice James Ogoola, who is the current chairman for the Forum.
It’s a brain-child of inter-religious council.
“The president stopped briefly to juggle a ball with the family of Winfred Mbabazi along Bugonga road,” Lindah said.
“The excited family exchanged pleasantries with the President before he continued for his scheduled programme.”
In the pictures, Museveni displays his expert juggling skills as the kids looked on visually impressed.
They even laughed and cheered the president on as the NRM chairman played on.
MP Ssemujju Nganda said they had invited the president to attend their delegates conference so as to learn some lessons about democracy.
Nganda was sure that by the close of the day, Museveni and NRM Secretary General, Kasule Lumumba, would have learnt that two people in a party can compete and still shake hands as friends.
Today, the deputy speaker of parliament, Jacob Oulanyah, suspended the house to honour the FDC meeting.
