President Yoweri Museveni has signed the affidavit before the Commissioner For Oaths, Innocent Kihika.
Presidential press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi, says the president signed the affidavit at the VVIP Lounge Entebbe Airport.
The Affidavit is in respect of his reply to the amended petition filed in the Supreme Court by former presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi.
Wednesday was the deadline for Museveni’s lawyers to file their response.
Mbabazi’s lawyers led by Muhammad Mbabazi filed the amended petition in Supreme Court on Monday adding more 15 grounds.
However, Muhammad and Fred Muwema’s offices were raided Tuesday night and most of the files stolen.
Speaking to press in Nakasero, Mbabazi accused Uganda police of breaking into his lawyers offices, something the force denied.
Nonetheless, the lawyers will not be able to file affidavits in time Thursday as ordered by court.
They cite the stealing of their documents and computers as well as the arrest of their witnesses which police too denied.
Mbabazi’s lawyer Asuman Basalirwa said they will ask court for more time to gather evidence afresh.
