Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) former presidential candiadte Dr Kizza Besigye has said president Yoweri Museveni ought to be held accountable, convicted and sent to prison for all the sufferings Ugandans are going through.
According to him, President Museveni has had 30 years to change the country even after he promised he would in five years but has miserably failed.
“Museveni should convicted for destroying our country. After 30 years, now he wants to revive cooperative Unions. After 30 years, he wants to revive the economy. What has he been doing all this time,” Dr Besigye made the remarks on Thursday night in a televised interview with NTV.
According to Besigye, a four time presidential candidate, the problem of Uganda is not the economy, its about the politics.
“We have a good economy and surely we would be far ahead in terms of development if we had good governance. I cannot change this country single handely.
All Ugandans must raise up and take charge of their country which is being ruled by dictator Museveni,” added Dr Besigye who was this week released on bail from Luzira Maximum Security Prison where he spent 62 days over treason charges.
Dr Besigye also said he would continue with his defiance activities until the country changes.
