The ruling National Resistance Movement [NRM] has upped its mobilisation game.

According to Mohammed Hamid, AYA Group Chairman, they have recruited 5,000 boda boda motorcyclists to solicit support for President Yoweri Museveni ahead of February elections.

The group was flagged off over the weekend and is expected to kick-start operations henceforth.

Hamid says the riders will ride across the country canvassing votes for the president.

“The president has done many good things,” Hamid told press at the event.

“We are sending them to explain to the electorate the good things the president has done in his last 30 years in power.”

Hamid said he, personally, would vote for Museveni, the reason he was coordinating the activity.

The group will be given police back up for support and protection.

Kampala Metropolitan Police South Deputy RPC, Geoffrey Kahebwa, confirmed the development.
