Last evening, President Yoweri Museveni held a rally in Kangave, Makulubita in Luweero District as part of his wealth creation drive.
Addressing the gathering, Museveni said the country has finally recovered economically and our revenues have gone up.
“However, we need to ensure that we kick poverty out of homesteads.”
Farmers must use modern methods of farming to get better yield and increase their incomes, he noted.
He also warned people illegally grabbing land to stop.
He said land owners should dialogue with those using their land to farm so that Operation Wealth Creation is not frustrated.
He urged parents to ensure their children go to school saying those who don’t are enemies of development.
For the elderly, government has a programme to look after them.
After the rally, he paid tribute to the late Sam Kabugo and Heneriko Kigongo.
These were veterans of the Bush War.
