President Yoweri Museveni has joined mourners at the requiem mass for Sir Adrian Sibo at Rubaga Cathedral in Kampala this afternoon.
Sibo worked at the human rights commission, was a permanent secretary, served as a Member of Parliament, among other tasks, in an illustrious career spanning decades.
Museveni particularly attended the mass to offer testimony to his contribution in national development.
Sibo galvanised all sections of Ugandans to support non-sectarian national politics.
“He helped us fight bad past tendencies of tribalism and misuse of religion, the reason Uganda has enjoyed peace and stability for over 30 years,” Museveni said.
Sibo was instrumental in establishing institutions such as Uganda Martyrs University and Centenary Bank among others that have turned out successful.
He also helped the NRM government in cadre identification.
“I pray he rests in peace.”
