“You are saying you are “Go Forward” we have been moving forward, been doing it for a long time,” President Yoweri Museveni said Wednesday afternoon at State House Entebbe.

The president was addressing press and summarising part of his 2016 presidential manifesto.

“Change means we were taking a wrong direction. For us we know we are in the right direction. For us we were always moving forward,” he said.

Museveni turned attention to former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi, mocking his “Go Forward” slogan.

“I heard my brother Mbabazi saying “me I go forward, I’m with those who are moving forward…eeeh, going forward”, clarifying that the ruling party, NRM has always moved forward.

“We would’ve even moved further forward if you Mr Hon [Mbabazi] hadn’t brought all the confusion.”

He said in the first place, Mbabazi was the cause of problems for which he claims to be moving forward.

“Who was the cause of that moving forward in the first place?”

“NRM has always been moving forward,” Museveni emphasised.

Speaking Namboole during his endorsement as the NRM presidential flag bearer on Sunday, Museveni blamed Mbabazi for having a hand in the chaotic NRM primaries.

Addressing the NRM Central Executive Committee at State House Entebbe later on Sunday, Museveni said he was hearing reports of Amama’s infiltrators in the NRM.

He promised to find them out and deal with them.

Addressing the NRM National Executive Council at Kololo on Monday, Museveni banned talk of Pro-Amama or Pro-Besigye in the ruling party.

He said those who claim to be allied to Mbabazi should leave and follow him.

Museveni said he was not afraid of any one.

“We can sack anybody, any high profile person and the sky doesn’t fall.”

Mbabazi was sacked from the office of Premier last year.

This was followed by his overthrow as NRM Secretary General at the 2014 delegates conference.
