President Yoweri Museveni’s personal pilot, Captain Daniel Musinguzi, is reported dead.
Musinguzi’s death was announced this evening by the deputy presidential press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi.
“State House Uganda announces with deep sorrow the death of one of its staff pilot Capt. Daniel Musinguzi. details to follow. RIP Daniel,” Nabusayi said in a social media, Twitter message.
Musinguzi was earlier on admitted at the International Hospital in Kampala (IHK) with an undisclosed disease.
There will be a requiem mass on Tuesday June 16 at St. John Parish Church in Entebbe and later in the afternoon, another service at St. Peters Cathedral in Hoima at 4pm.
Burial will be at his ancestral home in Bulindi Hoima on Wednesday June 17.
Captain Musinguzi was the head of the Presidential Jet Crew.
He has flown Museveni’s helicopter for some time now.
Another pilot flying Museveni’s chopper, Peter Nyakairu, died while flying South Sudan founder, John Garang in 2005.
