President Yoweri Museveni has dismissed as nonexistent allegations that he is sitting on a time bomb.
The president was addressing press at Mweya State Lodge in Kasese town on Tuesday.
“There is nothing like a time bomb,” the president responded to those spelling trouble for his government as witnessed through Rwenzori unrest.
The president met Bamba and Bakonzo cultural leaders yesterday over the security situation in the region.
He refused to disclose details of the meeting saying “there is nothing to discuss about security”.
“I’m not going to discuss whether a rebel should be killed or not.”
The president who explained that he was not a tourist in Kasese, said he would not forgive those who attacked soldiers and killed people.
“Those fellows who attacked army officers in 2014, I forgave them because they were ignorant peasants.”
Asked to comment on withdrawn Omusinga guards, Museveni said UPDF guards for King Wesley Mumbere will not ‘mix’ with his royal guards.
President Museveni advised those locked up in land wrangles to seek a legal redress.
“Whatever grievances you have, I advise you to go to court.”
The president also promised that Kasese airfield will be done and it is part of the plan.
“I advise you to read the budget and see how we’re allocating resources.”
