President Yoweri Museveni is in Isingiro District to meet NRM political leaders.
The presidential press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi, says the president will also sensitise the masses on Operation Wealth Creation campaign.
Speaking at the event, the President cautioned the people of Isingiro against sectarianism during the NRM primaries.
“People have not yet learnt democracy and this is because of the weaknesses we had in the party,” he said.
“But now cases of unlawful people have started coming up because the secretariat is committed to delivering.”
He added: “I will investigate these cases of beating people and rigging votes.”
NRM party primaries [where he is the chairman] have been marred by violence, voter bribery, vote rigging and influence peddling.
Members have burnt party cards, leaders’ homes, urinate on Museveni T-shirts and clashed with police in demonstrations against election malpractice across the country.
The president said use of bad language and sectarianism are all against the law.
“”It is possible for one to campaign without offending others.”
President Museveni told Isingiro people that signs of development were coming through – electrification, road network, health centres and schools.
On water, President said the plan is to get water from River Kagyera and connect to the north of the river.
