Former Ethics and integrity minister, Dr. Miria Matembe, has said Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni has never had a vision like he has always claimed but rather an ambition to destroy the country.
According to Dr Matembe, a woman rights activists, Museveni’s desire to destroy Uganda is the reason why his followers have never understood his vision.
She made the remarks Friday while addressing law students of Bishop Stuart University in Mbarara District in western Uganda.
“….For me now I have come to conclude by running a risk of judgment that the original idea of our president was not a vision. It was a personal ambition. Hasn’t he clearly told us all the time that none of us has caught his vision! How can we catch a vision which is a personal ambition!” wondered Matembe.
According to Matembe, the fundamental change which president Museveni promised when he went to the bush before he captures power in 1986 is not what he delivered because everyone in government is fighting for personal interests as opposed to national vision.
“The fundamental change collapsed and now we are back to zero,” said Dr Matembe.
